THE SEASON FOR SELLING
Traditionally, winter is the slowest season in the real estate market. Most homeowners wait until Spring to sell their homes, but there are some advantages to selling during the holiday season.
Holiday buyers are usually highly motivated. Often they need to relocate for jobs or have other unavoidable circumstances that require an immediate move. This means that they are more committed and qualified to make a purchase and often ask for fewer contingencies. Another advantage is the smaller inventory of homes available for buyers to choose from. Buyers will look at you home more seriously and be more likely to make an offer quickly.
Holiday transactions tend to be more streamlined. Lenders, appraisers, title companies and home inspectors have less on their plate and are anxious to finish their work before festivities with family and friends begin.
Even though it might be difficult to keep your home in showing condition during the holidays, this could be just the right season for a successful sale.
