It’s June – here in New Jersey, many of us have moved into “summer mode.” Everything’s more laid back during the summer – keep that relaxing feeling in your home by lightening up your rooms for summer.
There’s no need to spend hours redecorating – here are some easy ideas to bring summer to your home.
- Switch your heavier winter throw pillows with lighter summer options. Choose linen or light cotton in pale or bright shades, depending on your look. While you’re at it, put away your chunky winter throw blankets and add lighter woven throws.
- Take down the heavy curtains and replace with light summer sheer curtains. This will make your living room, family room, and bedrooms feel breezier and more relaxed.
- Brighten your dining table with colorful serving pieces or accent pieces. Melamine dishes, glasses and serving pieces are perfect for outdoor dining and often come in fun, nautical and tropical patterns.
- Beautify kitchen and bathroom counters with tiny succulents. These easy-care plants are perfect for summer – plant them in an oversize seashell for a beachy look.
