SUMMER DECK AND DRIVEWAY PROJECT IDEAS
Warm weather and long daylight hours make summer the perfect time to tackle some outdoor home improvement projects. Several popular improvement or maintenance projects are best completed in summer, including those that require warm temperatures.
Refinish your deck: Summer is idea for refinishing a wood deck, whether you’re staining or painting the wood. Proper maintenance is key for a long-lasting and beautiful deck. Prep work is very important before starting to paint or apply stain. Make sure old or chipped paint is removed and the surface is clean and smooth before starting. Deck paint can take a few hours to dry, while stain may take a couple of days.
Concrete walkway repair: Superficial cracks in a walkway can be repaired with concrete filler product that come in a tube or a small tub. Quick repair methods don’t typically require mixing large amounts of cement or large tools.
Asphalt driveway repair: Similar to cracks in a concrete walkway, cracks in an asphalt driveway can usually be repaired over a weekend. Cracks that are less than ½ inch wide can be repaired with asphalt patch compound, which requires warm temperatures to set properly.
