AUTUMN STAGING
Autumn is traditionally the 2nd strongest season for real estate sales. Kids are back at school and the cooler weather seems to invigorate the home buying urge. Sellers can take advantage of this time of year by staging their homes with a seasonal twist.
Autumn is all about getting cozy. To give warmth to interiors, change your cool blue light bulbs to a golden hue and increase the wattage to bring extra light into each area. If you have a fireplace, light a fire when buyers come over and have a pot of apple cider and cinnamon simmering on the stove.
You shouldn’t go overboard with the Halloween or Thanksgiving decorations, but you can use some seasonal accents throughout the house, like pots of chrysanthemums, gourds and dried flowers. Adding luxurious towels, bedspreads, accent pillows and throws in rich, warm, fall colors is a subtle way to remind buyers of the season, while still giving them the space to imagine themselves living there.
